Author Topic: Usage of new terminal  (Read 2834 times)

Hi,

As far as I know the new terminal of Heathrow is in use, in real life (don't know for sure). When can we expect an update from Heathrow Pro with an apron in front of the terminal, removed building cranes and gates to park our AI at? And will it also available for FS2004?

Regards,

The New Heathrow Xteme will take over form Heathrow Pro in January, so there's no more updates for the old one. That version will have any changes that have taken place

I dont think it is for passengers yet. as far as im aware they have only been testing it.

Remeber that once T5 is finished, LHR's oldest terminal (Terminal 2) is to be demolished. But when that is plannes for i have no idea.

AFCAD's are not possible in FSX. it does not support them. Im unaware what the alternate is, however Microsoft are releasing the SDK with the deluxe version on day of release. So we should fine out pretty soon.

Is that a standard fact or does it depend on how compatable the 2 sims are?

Not quite correct Fred.

The FS9 AFCADs will work in FSX, although there may be some problems with textures. I do not know yet how this will affect the UK2000 scenery files, because, as you know, the AFCAD is hoidden below the scenery and so the textures do not normally show. However it is true that where the surface textures have been produced with AFCAD this will no longer be possible.

As Fred has said in FSX a different type of BGL is used and cannot be compiled from the present AFCAD program. We shall have to await the SDK, but we will also have to wait and see if Lee Swordy has something up his sleeve.

No, there hasn't been any updates. Having said that, it would be difficult to do any improvement without a major re-build as any further step wpould include scenery objects and Lee always said that although this was one of his objectives it would always depend on the quality and value of such a program. The present program does all it is intended for and so requires no tinkering.

Lee has been quiet for a while, but I understand that he is an alpha and beta tester for MS, so something could be just around the corner.
