A really useful procedure for starting any Flight Simulator is a Clean System Start, thanks to a Microsoft site I found I no longer worry about stutters, game stops responing, closing unexpectedly, lock-ups or blaming my computer for being slow, go to this Forum's General Dicussion section for instructions on how to configure a Clean Start Up or go to Microsofts own web page on the subject at

Take offs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Has anybody carried out this clean start as shown from the above link? Does it really improve performance in Flight Sim? I want to do it but I'm anxious. Undecided  I'm worrried that my PC will not like it and go belly-up or something!

A clean start will improve performance. though by how much depends on the system. You may as well try it, because it won't do any harm as long as you follow the procedure correctly.
