I have FSX with Vista.  I have previously installed this scenery and it was ok, albeit it was the initial version. I have now re-installed the scenery v1.2, having first uninstalled the previous version through the correct setup and options program.

I am left with several black box areas throughout the aircraft parking areas of EGGD.

I have the following FSX settings
Global Texture Res   Very High
Mesh Comp               50
Mes Res                    10
Text Res                    60cm
Scenery Comp           Very Dense
Autogen                    Very Dense
Special Effects Detail High

Would appreciate any help

Thanks

Rob

Take offs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Also do you have SP2 installed?

Thanks for your help, Norman & Gary

Yes, I do have SP2 installed, just checked to confirm.

I have included as an attachment a screen dump of the problem.

Thanks again

Rob

UK2000 Scenery aren't currently in a state to support the use of Xtreme Airports with SP2. They are currently incompatable.

Updates are being developed and will be available to download for free by current users.  Wink

Ryan, Thanks for your prompt reply.  I can live with it, knowing that updates are being developed.

Thanks again

I also see the black areas with Bristol Xtreme, Rob. I have FSX/Acceleration running on Vista 64 bit and have assumed the problem was one of Xtreme series incompatibility with SP2. All was well with SP1.

I don't see the same at the other Xtreme series airports though. I have Glasgow, Edinburgh and Gatwick installed.

Thanks Charles.

I can't be bothered to uninstall SP2 and the risk of having to re-install all the other add-ons.  I will wait patiently for any updates from UK2000.

But thanks for the comment.

The black ares you illustrate are a result of SP2. There is a work around, but for the life of me I cannot remeber what it is at the moment. Give me a little time and I will come back to you.

Norman

edit: it is a missing texture file. Post a screenshot of your Britol Xtreme scenery folder and I will identify the file for you.

I don't think you would find a missing texture file in the scenery folder  Undecided

George

Edit. I see the black textures on one of my machines (8800GTX)  but not the other (7900GTS). The contents of the scenery and texture folders are exacly the same  Huh

I take it that Rob needs to post a screenshot of his Bristol Xtreme -> Texture folder?  Lips sealed  Cheesy

Wel, you have the correct number of files there; I had this problem myself, and found a cure for it. I'll have to research further to come up with the naswer.

Perhaps Gary can come in with this. All I can remeber now is that it was to do with a file named Smudgepalnes.bmp
