Phil first off have you get your terrain settings to at least 2/3rds full? And Bristol is very high up in your scenery library?
And one last thing, have you installed another Bristol previously?
Kind Regards
Gareth

Floating AI is generally caused by the user changing there default airport hight by another addon. I bet the AI still float with the default scenery (Xtreme range all use the same hight as the default scenery)

Many thanks for all your replies, The default Bristol is ok, I did install a freeware Bristol V3 which is ok. I do have traffic 2005 installed, what I can't understand is why it is just Bristol I have no trouble with any of my other UK2000 sceneries. Kind regards, Phil J.

What sim are you using?
FS9 Height using Bristol Xtreme is 625.7ft using Cessna
See first image
Height using Default Bristol is also 625.7ft (second iamge), AI are at the exact same hight. See second image
What height to you get?
Disable the freeware version that may be causign it

Press shift plus Z.
Go into your Traffic 2005 folder and do a search for eggd. Delete any file that you find.

Hi Gary, Norman Height is 625.7. If I delete all files with EGGD in Traffic 2005 folder will this mean I will have no AI aircraft at Bristol.

Hi Gents, Well I removed traffic 2005 went into Bristol the few aircraft that was left where still floating in mid air, I then removed Bristol Xtrem and every thing was normal re-installed traffic 2005 still ok, then re-installed Bristol Xtrem all aircraft floating. I just don't know what to do, like I said I have all but two of your airports and they are all just great. Sorry to be a pain.

Do you have an AFCAD tool? If you do, check to see if you have more than one EGGD AFCAD. It sounds like you have two or more AFCADs with different field altitudes set.

Im really out of ideas now.
This may be too tricky for you, but MOVE the files from inside the Xtreme SCENERY folder to somewhere else to store. Keep the scenery area active. Start FS and you should see the default scenery and AI, then one by one move back each of the BGL files back the scenery folder and start FS and recheck after each file, start with the af2_eggd.bgl. Go throught all the file and let use know which one makes the AI change height. None should, but this not a normal case.

Hi, I would like to thank all of you that have tried to help me, I am an old aircraft engineer but I am not very good on computers, I think it best that I call it a day and just use the default Bristol, I still have some great sceneries of other airports I can use.
Many thanks,
Phil J.
