Hello All,

Hope you can  help. I have just loaded Edinburgh FREE v1.0 for fs2004 on my PC.  However I am puzzled to see that there are buildings etc, but   NO concrete or tarmac either for the gates area only green etc and again only green showing up on the runways  (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED) ....very strange! Does anyone have any idea why this is please and is there a solution?? I hope someone can help.

Thanks In Advance

Ianzee

You are missing the AFCAD textures. Check to see that you have the AFCAD in the UK2000 Edinburgh free\scenery folder, it will be named af2_egph_UK2.bgl.

If it is there then do you have any other scenery for Scotland, or any addon that covers scenery universally?

Hi Norman,

Thanks for your quick response. I have checked the Scenery File as you suggested, and yes that file is definately there. I have Scotflight Scenery for Scotland, but Edinburgh is not included. As far as I know I don't have any universal scenery. Curiously,  I have recently added quite a number of new International Airports  without any similar problems. Hopefully there is a solution .

Thanks for your help thus far it really appreciated.

Sincerely

Ian

Your problem is almost certainly due to ScotFlight. Edinburgh airport is included in that product. Go to the ScotFlight\scenery folder and look for any file that has either Edinburgh Airport or EGPH in the name and make it inactive by altering the file type to .bgx. You shouod also make dure that the UK2000 airport is above ScotFlight in the scenery library.

Hi Norman.

Thanks for the data, I've made the changes as suggested - alas, I am still surrounded everywhere by green.

Take offs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Ian,

ScotFlight does affect Edinburgh, but as I no longer use FS9 I cannot be sure about which file it is. Look to see if there is a file in ScotFlight that is a flatten for Edinburgh.

Try disabling all other addons, that's every  folder in your scenery library except the default scenery folder and Edinburgh Free. Somewhere you have a file that is excluding the AFCAD visuals, its just a case of finding this file. Scotflight is good bet, but  it  could be another scenery area.

If your not able to find it, then you can either not use the scenery or reinstall FS

I found Scotflight causing me numerous problems with Edinburgh Extreme CTD's etc so I unistalled it, now I have no problems. I have loaded on my laptop the free version and I have no problems at all with the ground textures, so I think its scotflight that is causing your troubles
