Whenever I tune into what I "think" is Gatwick ATIS, I end up getting an ATIS for Southend Airport.

From what I have been able to find out from google maps, Southend Airport is about 63 miles NE of Gatwick.

My question is, why am I getting Southend airport ATIS when I am at Gatwick?

Because they are the same frequency and FSX does not diminish the signal with distance as would happen in real life. However, I deliberately left the ATIS out of the file for Southend so that this conflict didn't occur, so where did you get Southend from?

I use FS9 and not FSX as you mentioned, my apologies for that oversight, but I am assuming it's the same problem in FS9

I am not sure what you mean by where I am getting Southend from? If you mean addon airports, I do not have any Southend Airport installed for FS9.

The only other London addon  I can think of, which I have installed, is called Heathrow building works, which is an addon which simulated the construction of T5 at Heathrow. I doubt that would cause a conflict, although I could be wrong.

I tried disabling the Heathrow building works scenery which I mentioned above, but to no avail.

Is there another AFCAD file I could with there FS9 version of EGKK free and see if that solves the problem?

If not, I guess I will have to learn to live with it  Grin

Hi Morgan,

If you have FS9 and no other add on for Southend then it is the default Southend that you are receiving. Unfortunately I do no know of any way in which you can stop this from happening. As with FSX I got around the problem by not including the ATIS service for Southend in the parts series.

The only option is to turn off the ATIS service at Gatwick.

Guess I will have to learn to live with it. It's not a major problem.

Thanks for the help.
