I've continued to investigate the problem with double jetways and made a further discovery.

If I delete the fsx.cfg file ( or rename it ) so that FSX creates a new one then load any aircraft from the free flight menu - there are only single jetways.

If I attempt to load a previously saved flight then the double jetways are back.

Does this suggest that something is stored in the saved flight file that causes a conflict. Personally I still think there is a scenery caching problem going on here. I'll continue to investigate.

Ah, yes, if you load a saved flight that was made with other scenery then you get all sorts of complications. Not just with building structures, it will affect approach and departure data and can cause CTDs. The rule is that if you change any scenery then any flight that was saved with the old version should be consigned to the trash can.

Sorry I've been away for a while and unable to investigate this further, however I can confirm the following.

It is not necessary to rename or delete your fsx.cfg file to create a new one, but you do need to remove the default flight from the file. So change

situation=c:\my documents\whatever you default flight is called.

to

situation=

FSX will load without loading any flight. If you now go to gatwick you should have single jetways.

Also do not load any OLD flight you saved before as these will also cause the double jetway problem.

And lastly do not save a new default flight especially at gatwick as this will also cause the double jetway problem the net time you load up.

Definately seems to be the airport/jetways being loaded twice. With FSX loading once from the saved flight and then again during loading.

I will not be continuing with this any longer. But I hope this will help any with this problem to at least understand what the cause of the problem is, if not the resolution. I don't understand enough about afd files to look into this further but I'm sure someone at uk2000scenery might be more knowledgable.

That's a weird and interesting bug you have found there ED, I have just installed Windows 7 a few days ago and haven't got around to reinstalling all my add-ons yet, but I will certainly keep my eye out for this odd anomaly appearing again in the future.

Just to add that I've recently installed windows 7 and re-installed FSX then SP1 then SP2 so everything is new and clean.

After that I've added gatwick extreme. No AI traffic or any other add ons.

The double jetway problem does not appear UNLESS, I save a flight located at gatwick or in the vicinity and make it the default. Then the next time I load FSX and goto gatwick I get double jetways again.

This should go to prove that the problem IS NOT related to any other AFCAD files or AI traffic files as had been previously claimed. I personally will not be buying a copy of this software unless this problem is resolved, I can do no more.

So to workaround the problem make sure your deafult flight is nowhere near gatwick and then load a flight you saved there before if you want to start at gatwick.

I can confirm I am seeing the exact same thing at Glasgow Xtreme, if I save a flight there and make it the default flight double jetways will appear the next time you load that flight and this is on a totally clean install of FSX in a brand new install of Windows 7 64bit. If I move to Manchester for example and save a flight there and make it default then restart the sim, then use the free flight menu to load the aircraft at Glasgow then the double jetways are gone.
