Hi Gary, just a quick question. The FSX version will it be fs9 engine, or are you using the pure fsx mdls for FSX?Another, how did you do the ground textures?they are really good.I am doing Manch for air training it will only be visuals that you see on approach or taxi not so nearly as visual as yours so i am really looking forward to yours. Really good work...I notice on the ground tex at 23 its exactlly as it is thats not afcad generated how did you do them they are the best i have ever seen(give me a clue). best regards stewart haworth

Its 98% FSX code for the FSX version. Only expectation is the animation and Ground image. Ground image is just normal polygons, cant use FSX code for that due to FSX ground flashing effects.
Most resolution is 1 pixel to 1 meter, but it also has 'subtexture' effect on top of 100pixels per metre

Thanks for the reply. Yes the flashing image on the ground textures are a let down in both fs9 and fsx,i use the gmax fs2002 gamepack then alter the asm files to layer the texture. The only other way is to use a commercial mapping programme then use the resample in fsx sdk but that is very expensive.Thank you again gary can't wait for yours. stew

Looks like another top quality scenery. For those of is still using the old FS9 UK2000 Part 6, will we have to manually disable the old Manchester scenery files, or will the new installer take care of that automagically?

You should be able to leave it, the FS9 scenery layering system allows for multiples airports, just make sure the Xtreme version is above it
Not the same for FSX, all FSX users will have to insure there's one airport and more importantly ONE active afcad

Few more changes.
Now I did try to make the tunnel, but I have to give up, there is not enough mesh resolution in FS9 to achieve a cutting without effecting the taxiway and runways. In other words your aircraft would fall into the cutting.
So for FS9 I have made concreate barrier, fence and flat 2D fake image on the ground to fool you into thinking its a tunnel
I will try again for FSX, but I cant promise it will work.
Air livery logo added to hanger, AVP with the option to REMOVE the concorde hanger.

With respect to the tunnels (road and river), does VFR Gen X 2 have the required mesh resolution for these in FSX? It would be cool to see them (and also that little wooden bridge across the river)

The problem with that would surely be that the UK2K EGCC scenery would end up depending on the presence of a 3rd party scenery that not everybody would have.
Not every potential UK2K customer is English, so it would be asking a lot of them to buy and install VFR scenery for a country they visit occasionally.
Even if the VFR scenery did have the capability to make this work, it would be very parochial to expect the rest of the world to fit in!
If push comes to shove, an enterprising enthusiast could probably devise a way to lower the terrain in some other way. It was an amateur (contributor to a forum) that made FlyTampa's Saba airport (part of the St Maarten product) landable by AI planes, and he did that by lowering the terrain using a false AFCAD and then putting the proper airport AFCAD above it at the correct altitude, and making sure that the fake AFCAD was loaded into FS before the proper airport one. That amateur change made it into that airport's first update. Never underestimate the power of committed users!

Can I just ask a HUGELY important question. Well important! The spotting area, is that complete? Because it really does not look complete. The concorde is supposed to be undercover and there is also a big concrete spotting area also infront of the concorde. It looks good but it would look even better with those features.

The answer to the points you raise is contained within Gary's post above - reply no 22 - viz "AVP [Aviation Visitors' Park] with the option to REMOVE the concorde hangar".
Cheerio old bean
