Nothing Succeeds like a parrott

Hi All.

At the moment i am using a mic/headset. Is there any way of gettingv just atc through the headset and all other sounds....engines,ambience..etc....through normal speakers?.

Hi Pete

The answer's yes, if you have two sound cards.  If your earphones have their own device built in that will serve as the 'voices' card.

When you boot into FSX - click on Settings in lefthand menu and Sound in righthand menu. In the middle section "Windows sound devices" use the drop down menus to choose the card for sounds in the left  and in the right - the device for voices.

Hi Frank.

Got it sorted, I somehow managed it with just my on-chip (mb) sound card. Canged a few settings in the control panel's sound section and as you say in fsx choose default playback for engines, etc....and headset for voice.
