I've just noticed that at EGAA, when it's raining, that the ground remains dry. I'm using FSX SP2. I've checked default airports and they seem to look fine. Any idea what this could be?

Edit - Just installed Uk2000 EGKK Free version and it too works fine as far as wet ground is concerned.

regards, Tony

I found the culprit through a lengthy process of elimination. It was a file called EGAA_ground.BGL. This file appears to be the FS9 version and the FSX version is called EGAA_GroundFSX.BGL. Goodness knows how it got to be in the same directory as the FSX install. It couldn't possibly be included in the FSX installer, could it? Anyhow, I've spent most of the day finding a solution but I'm happy with the outcome so time well spent then. Smiley

Wet surface look only works with FSX AFCAD grounds, these are sacrificed to get a better looking taxi/aprons. Most user to not like the boring and bland AFCAD taxiways and aprons, they all have the same asphalt  and same concrete texture with no variety or shading, also the concreate is alway aligned with north and cant be rotated and is why it is not used in the Xtreme range.  The file EGAA_ground.BGL  is meant to be there as it produces a higher resolution look.

OK Gary, I didn't realise that bgl was there for a reason. Tongue I checked again and I do indeed see a layering where the afcad has a wet surface on top and it's dry around the edges of taxiways where the afcad hasn't reached. Maybe it doesn't look so bad to me as I have Rex2.0 installed and it replaces some of the default ground airport textures. The textures also seem to retain their alignment. i suppose I just have to decide what look I want. Thanks for your reply.

regards, Tony
