Hi Gary,

Thanks for the V2.1 update and the lower resolution bitmaps!
I installed both the update and the low res textures but I have some issues.
If I change the angle, I see different textures.
Please advice.

I'll have to wait until I get feedback from other FS9 users, I did fear this could happen.

In reference to the report of landing light problem at night on the Centeline, I had  to lower the ground gap to just 0.01 metres, this GAP may be too low for some setups, and this break up you get shows it,I may have go back to what it was before. It looks fine on my PC, but  not all PCs are the same and is why the original ground gap was 0.03 metres.

For now, go back to V2.0 and just use the lower res textures

As no one else has reported your problem, it is again unique to you. Infact it would not be surprise me if your OOM and this are linked together. I think you should reinstall FS2004 as it could be damaged in some way.  I have installed V2.1 on 4 PCs here I dont get this ground breackup

Hi Gary I have the exact same problem, I have just installed FS2004 from scratch because I reformatted and installed all my add-ons and my FS2004 is doing the same thing when u take off it displays correctly then when you come nearer the ground there is a line between aircraft and it turns to grass#

I have all my settings max and global texture and my fps is locked at 40 i also used the xtreme setting on setup

I  have installed it on 4 Pcs here without a problem, flying in as well as slewing in.  I will probably go back to the previous surface gap as a precaution.

What Graphics card have you got, it could be related to this.

I would appreciate a screen shot as well, by the sound of it, your effect is not as bad as Egbert

I see your online now

I would appreciate a screen shot as well, by the sounds of it, your effect is not as bad as Egbert, and may be a different thing.

Can you select the default FS9 737-400 aircraft, sit on the runway with slew OFF, press alt+z to bring up the red info text and tell me what the altitude is
You should see 87.7ft like my screen shot
I'm still extremely perplexed by this, and why it only effect some and not all. You also have lost all the ground lines/details that display on top of the basic taxiway layers, (edging, drains, CL, lines ect..)

Egbert if you see this, can you do the same thing.

Do either of you have terrain addons like UT Europe?

or better still email over your scenery.cfg so I can take a look

I cant proceed to understand what causes this  effect, without information about what other addons you may have

I had a similar problem with Frankfurt add on, a while back, it seems to be AFCAD related I dont know why but I removed every AFCAD that related to Frankfurt except the one for the product and it worked!
May be worth a try Smiley

Aaron has confirmed he has UTE, you do have 380 addons, but this is the most likely cause

UTE has been responsible for problems at most of our airports, I have had reported from Glasgow, Birmingham, Stansted and Belfast. Currently I dont have UTE, but it is a conflict with there terrain. I beleave it may be possible to remove certain UTE files that conflict. I will probably have to purchase UTE to look into this. as I cant see any other way. This will take some time.

In the meantime Aaron I have edited your scenery.cfg to just include default and Heathrow V2, please use this file as a test, you can then go back to your normal scenery.cfg after the test

I'm having the same graphics problems as well. I don't use UTE and this is a fresh install as I wiped my PC a week ago. I did notice that the height was different to what Gary said it should be, however the AFCAD lists it as 79.99 ft. I don't know if that means anything.

Maybe you can send me your scenery.cfg as well, it could be some other addon or error that is changing the height.

The height shown when pressing shft+z is the 'eye' height of the aircraft sitting on the ground. Looking at afcad will not help, I know what height it shoud be, we are trying to establish the actual height where using the scenery.

This is why I say use the default 737, because we all need to use the same aircraft which has the same eye height.

>I did notice that the height was different to what Gary

It should be 87.7ft, what is yours then?

This is the keypoint here, if your FS is not using the correct hight then the ground polyongs will be underneath the surface and not displaying, so I need to find out why these PCs are not using the correct height, solve that and we solve the problem

Same question for Aaron, you sent me your scenery.cfg, but I really like to know what the height is sitting in the default 737, and what happens when you use the test scenery.cfg I sent you yesterday.
