I run FS9 and downloaded the Free version of Gatwick Extreme. This installed with no problems and was excellent.

I then purchased South East Airfields Part 3 and installed. This also works perfectly. The issue is that it over-wrote the previous Gatwick Extreme Free Version.

I tried taking the 11 EGKK files out of part 3 - but the runways,  taxiways  and all tarmac disappeared.

I de-installed and then re-installed Gatwick Extreme Free - still no runways or taxiway although all the other scenery is correct.

After reading the forum I then moved Gatwick Extreme Free to the top of the add on scenery. Still no runways or taxiways.

I then un-ticked Gatwick free and put the 11 EGKK files back into the UK Part 3 Scenery folder. Gatwick now runs normally using the UK Part 3 Scenery.

Is it possible to get Gatwick Extreme to work and not the EGKK files in UK Part 3?

Any help would be much appreciated please. I am also a relative novice in moving files around in FS.

Regards

I'm not aware of any problems but I cant say for sure. A new Gatwick Free is being made in a few weeks, so may be better to wait for the new version.

Hi Roy,

It does run without a problem. Although I do not use FS9 I do check all the files  that I make against an old setup on my system, where I also have all the parts scenery  as well.

One thing that occcurs to me is did you delete (remove) the file af2_egkk from the af2_high\scenery folder?

Hi Norman

thanks for the reply. The af2_egkk from the af2_high\scenery folder is  there. Is does not seem to make any difference whether it is in or not.

If I run UK Part 3, Gatwick is based on Part 3 scenery and is perfect.

If I untick UK part 3 in the add on scenery library I get Gatwick Extreme scenery correct.

If Gatwick Extreme is at the top of the add on scenery list and both boxes are ticked I get Gatwick extreme scenery and lights but no taxi ways runways or tarmac.

If I untick Gatwick Extreme I get UK Part 3 Gatwick correct.

I have tried every way, including de-installing and re-installing but unfortunately no success.

Should the af2_egkk be in the af2_high\scenery folder?

Best regards

Hi Roy,

When you talk about South-East airfields part3, do you mean uk2000 airports Vol3?

If you do, then Vol3 is actually S&SW. SE airfields is Vol1, which includes Gatwick.

The usual procedure when installing an Extreme version, is to disable that airfield in the appropriate volume via options.exe.

Or have I got hold of the wrong end of the stick again?

So was I George. However, I forgot that I purchased mine from Just Flight in 6 Volumes, rather than the 8 volumes from Gary. An act that I have duly apologised for, although it was many moons ago. Also, the old grey matter is nearly black now. Unlike my hair, which was black and is now nearly grey!

JF does have SE in Vol1.

ps. Guess I've just lost a sackful of Brownie points?
