Hello fellow flight simmers,

First off to thank Gary for his hard work he put into this awesome scenery, it's fantastic, just a small enquiry (I'm rather new to this, sorry :\), when I'm flying an in-bound approach, (when the wind is heading east) it sets me to 27L, but I fancy flying into 27R, so when I attempt to request 27R, it has no option to request 27R. I have downloaded the latest AFCAD file (another brilliant piece of art), but to no avail. Please help me, I'm rather new at this, sorry!

Thanks,

Pilar.

This scenery and its AFD are realistic, so, as in the real world, 26L is for arrivals and 26R for departures.  At the other end 8R is departures and 8L is arrivals.

Whooops!  Sorry about that - bit of a Gatwickian slip.  Heathrow is, of course, 27L & 27R and 09L & 09R.  I must stop answering so early in the morning!!

It only needs Norman to now say I am talking cobblers and I'll give up.

Hmmm, I always get approach for 27R, and can never select 27L.... When checking the runways on ADE, on RWY 9L and 9R are shown on the runway list as runways that I can change...
No matter what I select, I cannot get any options for the RWY's 27L and 27R.

Joshua

EDIT: I'm so stupid! I wasn't looking hard enough, or else I'd have seen what I was doing wrong!! I've figured it out now. However, I tried changing the runways available for landing and takeoff , although even after changing this, compiling the file, restarting FS, I still get told to get ready for an ILS 27R approach, with 27L unavailable...

Norman, is there any problems that occur with AI traffic if 27L is used for landings, and 27R for takeoffs?

No, not as long as only the runway properties are the only elements that are changed.
