Hi all,

So I have decided to buy the VFR Airfields for FSX at some time in the near future, (next pay day) and looking through the features for the VFR airfields I see that the major airports are included with each area, "in the interests of completeness" I think the write up said. My question is how do the VFR airport versions of each major airport and the free version of the same airport under the Xtreme banner compare.

I understand that I will have to do something with regards un-installing the existing free version or not installing the new version when I buy VFR airfields, but which one should I keep. Maybe they are the same scenery models in  which case it would be easier to un-install the free versions and install VFR airfields as a complete package.

I already own East Midlands Xtreme, so I will have to delete the VFR Airfields version of this airport. Do I just have to make sure Xtreme EMA is above VFR airfields in the scenery list or un-install something in the VFR airfields package? OH sorry that's starting to sound like a separate topic!

Thanks for any comments.

Regards.

No, David, they are not the free versions, but are made to the same standard as the rest of the VFR scenery. Neither the free airports, nor the VFR scenery ines are anything like the full Xtreme versions, but you will need to look to see which you prefer. There is no need to uninstall the free one, if you have it, just remove it from your scenery library.

David,

The VFR Airfields packages come with an OPTIONS utility. If you run this after installation (look in the UK2000/VFR Airfields 2 folder), you will be able to disable the VFR2 version of East Midlands by unticking the relevant checkbox.
