Thanks for the suggestions.   I have tried scanning my FSX and I find the results rather difficult to understand.   For instance there is no EGNX in the list of scanned files although the AFCD/bgl files for my UK2000 Xtreme Glasgow, Manchester & Bristol are shown.   I did see a few duplicate files but again no sign of EGNX.

What is going on?

Hi Brian,

I think that there is only one way that you are going to sort this out. Those arrows you are seeing are default arrows, so they could be coming from anything, so you have to eliminate the possibilities one at a time. The best way to do this is to untick half of your entries in the scenery libary and see if the problem goes away. If it does then you know that the offending file is in the unticked half, if not then it is in the other half. Wherever it is untick half that section again and see what happens. Carry on reducing by half until you find it.

Norman

Edit: just had a thought, I suppose you have checked the file for EGNX that you have in your scenery folder? perhaps it would be better first to download the latest file from the UK2000 web site and install that, just in case your present AFD file is corrupt.

It could be a general database error, do a rebuild of your library or even reinstall FSX may be the only solution

EGNX is a funny one. If I scan the installed files it doesn't find it. If I copy the EGNX Xtreme folder tree to another drive it does  Huh

I am very pleased, and very much relieved, to have some good news to report this morning.   Having read Normans post of yesterday afternoon I reinstalled the trial version of East Midlands Xtreme and then updated to the latest file as was suggested.  The result was that I now look upon an airfield without a duplicate in sight! No sign of that phantom runway or seeing double when parking on the stands!

May I say a very big thank you to all those chaps who have taken the trouble to come to the aid of this very ancient aviator, I am most grateful. Now I guess all I have left to do is find my wallet and make the purchase.

Brian.
