Hi,

Just a quick question about a problem which i have with the EGCC AFCAD.

As you can see from the attached picture, my aircraft - the Las Vegas Sands 767 - was holding at the 23L VB holding point. I had contacted tower for takeoff clearance and waited until the runway was clear. The First Choice 767 then taxiied behind me and continued 'into' my aircraft also contacting tower as if i was not there.

Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

Many thanks.

Was that an MTX aircraft, and if so have you deleted the file br2_egcc from the MTX scenery folder?

I'm sorry but what do you mean by MTX aircraft? This is just a normal AI aircraft installed using MRAI Compiler

Does this always happen?

The problem may be caused because of the layout at Manchester. Because of the bottle neck between T2 and T3 I created a one way system for aircraft. This, in effect, involves hav ing two AFD files mounted on top of each other, on for in bound flights and one for outbound. Normally this doesn't cause a problem, but it would be possible for an ai aircraft to follow the inbound route when it should be on the outbound one. If that does happen then the aircraft would not be aware of another that was following the correct route, but it will only occur rarely. However, if you were to use TANGO or Victor Bravo instead of Victor Alpha then that is for departing aircraft only.

As MRAI are not for FSX I do not use them, so have never tested with that particular ai system, but this is the first report I have seen that there may be a problem.

I have just tried a departure for, EGCC and as you can see I was offered VICTOR BRAVO for 23L.

The screenshot is from Victor Bravo. It has happened before and i'm not sure but could it be something to do with the hold short nodes? This problem does not occur at Tango holding point.

Hi Kieren,

Yes and no, as I have explained above there are separate outbound and inbound tracks, and the ai aircraft in your screenshot has followed an inbound track whilst outbound. The two tracks have independent hold points and cannot see each other. VICTOR BRAVO has both inbound and outbound tracks so as to allow for traffic that over shoot the usual taxiways, but ATC will not never direct you there if you are outbound.

As I said, I have used this system because with the bottle neck between the terminals, if the traffic is set very high then everything will come to a halt until aircraft simply disappear. So the only answer is a one way sysyem, but unfortunately there are points where they have to cross. In real life a one way system operates at EGCC, and, before somenone tells me it is the other way round, this is set up to be the best option in MSFS.
