Dear Garry  Have been reading about the piracy of your work. This so sad to read about. I feel that all your work should be sold on a disc which can not be copied.
Any way that your work can be protected needs to be used.  If not using downloads did decrease customers then that would be better than you having to give up your great work you do for us all.  We all need to stamp out the piracy once and for all.

Data on a disk is just as easy to copy as data that is downloaded im afraid, its not that easy...

Dear Gary
Having just purchased your new Edinburgh for FS9 I would like to say how I came about finding and finally making the decision to purchase.:
The scenary appeared on the Simmarkt advertising website.
Having had a look I saw I could download and install it to take a look.
Having done this I was first surprised to see everything was present with no time limits.
Now I hopped into my Robinson to make a tour and was, well flabergasted at what a wonderful job you had done. Now to be honest the large 'Archeological Diggings' on the main runway didn't really bother me and I thought how could it bother the majority of people. So is there really a need to steal the scenery.
Or do people not justify your work for these few Euros.
Or is theft simply their occupation.
I must add I have made the purchased and the archeologists left the site and filled in the ugly hole. Due to reasons of quaility and FPS, moreover I have used scenery from Aerosoft but you have certainly overdone their limit.
Congratulations and I do hope the pirates leave you alone.

hi..just thought id reply to this as somethings just popped up.

i realised when making the scenery demo box go away in your sceneries an email needs to be entered.
i see this way is alot more easier to be copied for 1 main reason.
there a people out there that can simply enter my email address and job done.
people contact me on my email address and they know i use uk 2000 products...so if they wanted one of the add-ons i had brought they could simply just type the email in and they will have it for free.
to me a bit of a pain.
family, freinds contact me on this address so i wouldnt really want to change it so the pirates can easily get a copy.

Not quite that easy, the activation key is only sent to the email address entered on the activation page. So, if someone else used your address they would not receive an activation key, as it would be sent to you.

Take offs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

along with your e-mail address activation thingy why not use a pin number like the old activation number thats sent to you upon purchasing?

Or, like many of my previous ideas, is this a pointless one? Wink Cheesy

Gary, IMO, you should use Flight1's e-commerce. I know you may say they might take % off your profit, but if you look at it as a whole, you may gain, since there will be no more piracy thus people will buy the real thing. You would also get advertisement on their web-site. ??

Andy, Just to keep you in the picture, Flight 1's Products are not 100% secure as Gary should be able to see from all the info I have sent him!

I think his new activation system is great as so far from what i can see, no-one has been able to crack the new system which is a great thing and everyone can support Gary through the proper channels!!!

Okay. How does this new system work? All I had to do was type in my mail and it was sent to me on another window (internet  browser). Couldn't someone just nick my email?

No system is totally secure, I dont want that anyway, but this system does stop the mass uploading of the product to pirate sites, if someone else does use your email then I can always remove that email and give the genuine customer a unique key instead.   So far no one has reported this has happened, so its more of fear than a reality. There are some people out there who are quite happy to get the software for free, but to use someone elses email is one step too far as you your also stealing from the the genuine purchaser as well from me.
