I, and some friends, experience a brief pause during take off from runway 26L.
It does not happen taking off from 08R.

I have seen this in the past, but cannot recall the cause or the solution.

Any ideas welcome.

All you can do is reduce the load, try removing the animation option as it does have 'load up' zones

I know at least 6 people who experience this on the same runway at the same spot.

Why doesn't it happen in the opposite direction?  The scenery and all settings are the same.

Hi Gary,

I am having the exact same problem even with moderate settings in P3D and I am using an overclocked hexacore i7 @ 4.6GHz and have a factory overclocked 1080 Ti graphics card, so it is unlikely to be a performance issue of either the hardware or P3D in my case.

The problem occurs just as you are at right angles to the control tower traveling west on 26L. It does not occur when travelling east on 8R.

Does this aid your thought process?

Regards,

Ted.

It must be loading something up, I dont know what or why some get a pause.

Interesting thing has just happened.

I'm now getting a pause, but it has nothing to do with Gatwick, I turn it off and the pause is still there with 100% default scenery. I tracked it down to the 'SODE' module. When I turn it off, the pause goes. Does anyone who gets this pause use 'SODE' ?

Hi Gary,

I tested tonight with P3Dv4 and default EGKK and it still stutters. I use GSX which requires SODE, so I guess this aligns with your own findings.

My big delay came from the Heathrow Safedock XML file which I create in FSX, but is actually used in P3Dv4. This delayed happened with NO addon scenery at all it was just the SODE XML file active. If I removed the file it was smooth again.

Is there anyway you can disable your SODE and GSX and retest your Gatwick

Hi Gary,

Disabled both SODE and GSX and it made no difference. Perhaps it is the ORBX Scenery causing the issue, which I had loaded with UK2000 EGKK on P3Dv3 and now default EGKK on P3Dv4 but both with ORBX Global, Vector EU Landclass and England.

Not sure if my update helps towards solving the stutter mystery. BTW - I have never had a stutter with UK2000 EGLL.

Ted.

Hello,

If you have the Heathrow (EGLL) UK2000 scenery, try disabling it and then see if that helps get rid of the stutter around the 26L threshold - it resolved the issue for me.  Whenever I plan to fly in/out of Gatwick I always disable any Heathrow scenery before loading up the flight to avoid this issue and its worked fine ever since.

My theory is that the area around the 26L threshold probably brings FS to just within range of EGLL to load the scenery, causing the brief sutter.  Whether that is actually true or not though I have no idea!

Regards,

James
